At Pixie, we think all food is super: it has the power to nourish, heal & delight. We’re particularly passionate about simple ingredients straight from nature, and believe that a diet rich in minimally-processed plant-based foods is essential in maintaining and building health and happiness in our minds, bodies and souls. Sometimes, a little extra boost of plant-power is needed to help us along the way, so we’ve gathered together some of our faves to help you on your journey.

Acai Berry

Ah-sigh-ee is a fruit native to South America. It has a unique nutritional profile for a fruit, as it’s low in sugar. It’s also incredibly rich in antioxidants, with 3 times the amount found in blueberries. Antioxidants help prevent disease by removing molecules called ‘free radicals’ from the body.

Cacao Nibs

A dark-chocolatey snack made from crushed cacao beans. Cacao nibs are highly nutritious, providing an impressive amount of protein, fibre, healthy fats, minerals and antioxidants. They can also increase levels of dopamine and seratonin, providing a delicious mood-boost. Moral of the story? Eat chocolate, be happy.

Hemp Hearts

Rich in healthy fats and essential fatty acids, hemp hearts are an amazing plant-based protein source and contain high amounts of vitamins and minerals, with all 9 essential amino acids. Hemp hearts come from the cannabis sativa L. plant, with less than 0.3% of the psychoactive compound THC.

Sacha Inchi

Sacha Inchi is one of nature’s true stars. It’s a premium source of plant-based protein due to its high digestability (99%), which sets it apart from other vegetarian protein sources.
